These are totes my notes: Glee 3.05 The First Time

Disclaimer: I barely slept last night. Not sure if it was thinking or feeling or just the fact that I was mysteriously hungry at 4am, but no sleep. So we have this episode and all the baggage that comes with it and me being exhausted and a lot emotional. You may have to take this… [Read more…]

Self-sabotage, hard work and success “Asian F”

October 5, 2011 by

So, for the last couple of years, we’ve watched a glee club that chose its competition numbers (or wrote them) right before the big competitions and still managed to finish either 1st or respectably anyway. And in “Asian F” we’re seeing a lot of storylines (continue) about hard work and success. Glee is growing up,… [Read more…]

Ryan Murphy: Kurt, Rachel, Finn “clearly sophomores” in Season 1

July 14, 2011 by

(there are some wee spoilers in this) … you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year. That was more real, I felt it was more responsible and true to the fans. I think… [Read more…]

Personal Glee Moment: Best Birthday Present Ever

You know how sometimes you get something in your head, but you don’t have the mad skills to make it real? And then you mention it to someone, and it’s your birthday and they definitely have those mad skills you lack? And then they just do it, better than you’d imagined? So yeah, I have… [Read more…]

Stuff that annoys this person about Glee

In addition to this, many small things irritate me. The main character, Rachel Berry, has two mysteriously absent but apparently doting gay dads who have never been seen in two whole seasons except in one photo in the pilot episode; the song choice frequently serves to pump up the iTunes album’s place on the charts… [Read more…]

Glee New York: Magic, mostly.

For a show full of people who have worked and worked and worked to get where they are, it’s amazing how they portray their characters being totally clueless that arriving at a national competition without any songs prepared (or even written) may be the cause of their (not entirely catastrophic, actually) failure. And it’s not… [Read more…]

Glee needs some women in the writing room…

March 31, 2011 by

This is something that has been irking me for a while and I finally need to get it off my chest: Glee really needs to get some female writers, pronto. The female characters on the show are written horribly and come off as shallow, manipulative and unnecessarily bitchy. The glee club has turned into this… [Read more…]

Aaand just as I go on about Rachel being better off single… (spoilers)

Remember me telling you a few weeks back that there were no current plans for Jonathan Groff to reprise his role as Rachel’s evil ex Jesse St. James this season on Glee? Those plans have changed — big time. via Glee Exclusive: Jonathan Groff Returns! – TVLine – TVLine.

I Ship Rachel

I’m just going to get this out there. Yes, Rachel is annoying, but I still love her. (Let’s ignore the fact that I own some of those sweaters and am probably annoying in exactly the same way). And she has come a very long way since the beginning of the show. And the one thing… [Read more…]

Hag Fag

In “Blame it on the Alcohol”, Kurt refers to Rachel as a “hag”. They carefully avoid the use of “fag” but are still happy to use “hag”? Really? That was kind of disappointing.
